Qualifications, Experience and Skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and/or Safety Management Systems.
- 12 or above years’ experience in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality in an Aviation or related industry.
- Relevant IATA Training on Safety & Quality is mandatory.
- Strong quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Personal and professional integrity.
- Knowledge of international/domestic, commercial air flight operational procedures.
- Competence in Risk Management, Incident Management, Health & Safety Law, Stakeholders Management, Project Management, Coaching & Mentoring, Quality Management, Change Management and Strategy Development are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation and maintenance of the safety and quality policy as well as Safety Management System and Quality Management System.
- Providing advice and assurance relating to safety and quality issues and performance.
- Establishing safety and quality standards.
- Establishing a system for safety management education and safety awareness.
- Implementing internal, external/ international safety and quality initiatives and requirements.
- Monitor compliance with, and the adequacy of, procedures required to ensure safe operational practices among staff.
- Monitor operational practices against SLAs to identify and highlight service threats.
- Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure that daily operations are conducted in line with clients’ expectations.
- Work jointly with process owners to conduct risk root cause analysis for service exceptions/issues through a review of operational practices.
- Coordinate preparations for Safety & Quality audits to ensure successful outcomes.
- Monitoring results / outcomes of SMS audits, ISAGO, IOSA, internal audits, Airline audits, airports surveys, spot-checks and inspections.
